Local Agent service - we unlock domains in restricted countries

In many countries, so-called local presence is a prerequisite for registering a domain in a local extension. It is also often required that the administrative contact is also located at a local address in the country where the domain is applied for. The requirements and registration process may vary depending on the country chosen.
To make registration as simple and accessible as possible, Intername offers a Local Agent service, also known as a trust service, local presence or simply proxy service. This is an agreement, accepted and respected by local registration authorities, whereby you authorise Intername to be your local contact for matters covered by your registered domain.

We have established a network of affiliates around the world (via a locally registered branch or trusted local agent) to overcome barriers to registering restricted domains and unlock registrations for our customers.

As part of our Local Agent service, in countries where a local presence or local administrative contact is additionally required, we meet all the requirements required by name registries to successfully register and maintain the selected domains covered by the Service. Below is a complete list of countries requiring local presence that are serviced by our company. Most of the name registries from the countries listed below have imposed restrictions preventing international companies from registering domain names. Our Local Agent service unlocks the ability to register domains in these countries.

Terms and conditions of the Local Agent service

Throughout the maintenance period of a domain using the Local Agent service, the provider must remain Intername. Intername will renew the domain name provided that the current annual renewal fee and the Local Agent service (if not free) are paid by the date indicated to the User.

If a domain name using the Local Agent is used contrary to generally applicable standards and in particular in violation of local laws, Intername will immediately delete the domain or deactivate it. If the domain name is used to promote content of an unethical or immoral nature, the domain name will be suspended until the content displayed is changed.

Intername and our authorised agents offer the Local Agent Service in good faith, but at the same time we cannot guarantee unforeseen interruptions or discontinuation of the Service. In the event that we are instructed by a Name Registry, court or similar institution to change the legal structure of a domain name, block it completely or delete it, we will do so immediately. Neither Intername nor its owners can be held liable in any way or form for anything that happens to a domain name using the Service. The funds used shall not be refunded.

Intername shall have the right, at its sole discretion and without notifying the User, to change address details or transfer ownership of domain names using the Service between its local agents. The User declares that, to the best of the User's knowledge, the domain name does not infringe in any way or form any third party's trademarks or other proprietary rights; nor does it violate any direct or indirect laws or procedures in the corresponding countries and beyond. However, if at any time a domain name is deemed by Intername to infringe such rights, we reserve the right to respond independently to ensure the protection of our brand and company, and may without limitation implement preventive measures such as deactivating the domain, transferring it to another provider or removing the domain.

In particular, you are prohibited from using our Local Agent service to buy and sell domains. If any domain name is deemed to be "for sale", it will immediately become inactive or be deleted. Any deviation from this rule must be agreed in writing with the owner of Intername.

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Intername harmless from any loss, cost or damage, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from any claim, action, suit, proceeding, dispute or demand arising out of, or relating to, any domain using our Local Agent service. In the event that a lawsuit or other claim is filed against Intername, its owner or agents, either directly or through a local court or dispute resolution or similar proceeding, we have no obligation to defend the maintenance of the domain or to participate at all in any such proceeding. Intername may instruct you to provide us with evidence substantiating your rights to the domain name within 7 days; or otherwise enter into a written agreement with us as to how to act in response to a complaint, lawsuit or claim.

In the event of the loss of a domain name or if the Service is suspended for a period of time, Intername or our representatives cannot be held liable for any loss suffered by you, directly or indirectly, even if Intername has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.
