Before registering or delegating a .ru domain, make sure that DNS servers are configured correctly (SOA records created). The Russian domain registry will not allow delegation of a .ru domain to incorrectly configured DNS servers.For .ru domain registration it is required to send scans of company registration documents (documents not older than 2 years, Internet printouts are not honoured unless signed manually) or a scan of a valid passport.
Note: Changing DNS servers for .ru domains registered after 1.10.2024 is free of charge.

How to transfer domain .RU

What are Russian .RU domains - characteristics
Russian domains .RU are the main and very popular internet name extensions in the country of Russia. The .RU domain is the national domain, which originated from the ISO code (RU, Russia). The cost of registering one .RU domain name for one year is 10 £, plus any tax. Registration of .RU domains is very difficult and complex and usually takes 7 days. The registration time may be prolonged because there are additional requirements imposed by the .RU name registry Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ (Координационный центр доменов .RU/.РФ) on applicants wishing to register their domains in the .RU extension. With our Local Agent service for .RU domains, you can register these Russian domains practically without hindrance. Our Local Agent service costs an additional 10 £ per year. Registered names in the .RU extension must be between 2 and 63 characters long and may not contain national characters (IDN). Unfortunately, usually all names in the .RU extension that have less than 4 characters are already taken or blocked by the name registry. The applicant for a .RU domain name receives SPAM protection for his or her email address from us, or optional all data protection via our Agent solution.
